ComicScene celebrates 80 years of Superman

The launch issue of ComicScene UK is on the shelves of WHSmith, McColls, comic shops and is available to order at Easons in Ireland now.

In the pilot issue Joel Meadows talks to Brian Michael Bendis about Superman, the Man of Steel and why he felt it was time for him to move from Spiderman to Superman and thinks it’s ‘the Moses story with a sci-fi bent’.

We continue our celebration of 80 years of Superman when Dave Gibbons talks to Stephen Jewell about his earliest memories of Superman and his Superman Story ‘For The Man Who Had Everything’ that he created with Alan Moore.

Sean Egan also takes a look at another Superman Anniversary. He talks to Richard Donner about Superman the Movie, which celebrates its 40th year. The definitive Superman movie, find out why Robert Redford is not our Superman!

Talking of movies you can also read about the new Aquaman movie and the new SpiderVerse movie in our TV and film section and if you fancy more Superman don’t miss our February issue when Tim Hayes takes a look at Elliot S Maggins book ‘Superman: The Last Son of Krypton’.
